你知道高考英语试题中哪种题型出得最频繁吗？

1978年起全国高校招生实行统一考试，至今已有二十几个年头了。在历年的英语高考试卷中，关于until/till考查题的复现率可谓众词之冠。今天，小编就结合历年高考试题谈谈until/till的用法。

1. until/till既可作连词，又可作介词。用于肯定句时，主句的谓语动词是延续性动词，动作一直延续到until/ till所表示的时间为止。英汉互译时，语序基本一致。例如:

The snake crawled on and on until it disappeared under the rocks.(1986年高考试题阅读理解) 那条蛇缓慢地向前蠕动着，最后消失在岩石下面。

The cat hid behind a big tree and then crawled forward through the tall grass ______ it could almost hear them(rats)talk.(1986年高考试题综合填空，填until。) 猫藏在一棵大树后面，然后一直向前爬，穿过高高的草丛，直到它几乎能听到老鼠的叫声为止。

I don’t really work here，I ______ until the new secretary arrives.(1994年高考试题单项填空，正确选项C。) 我真的不在这儿工作，我只是在新秘书来到前帮帮忙而已。

A.just help out B.have just helped out

C.am just helping out D.will just help out

2. until/til用于否定句时，谓语动词必须是终止性动词。表示动作直到until/till所表示的时间才开始。英译汉时，应先译until/till所引导的部分，再译主句，谓语动词前加“才”，或“(直)到……时才”。例如:

He was so tired that he didn’t wake up until the evening.(1979年高考试题英译汉) 他累极了，一直睡到黄昏时才醒过来。

He never leaves the lab until 11:00 every evening.(1981年高考试题汉译英) 他每天晚上要到十一点才离开实脸室。

Don’t get off the bus until it ______.(1984年高考试题，正确选项A。) 车停稳才可下车。(车未停稳切勿下车。)

A.has stopped. B.stopped

C.will stop D.shall stop

I didn’t manage to do it ______ you had explained how.(1987年高考试题，正确选项A。) 直到你说明了该怎么做，我才设法把它做好。

A.until B.unless

C.when D.before

3. 为了加强语气，可把until/ till所引导的时间状语置于句首。这时往往用until，一般不用til，也不需要用倒装结构，即谓语动词不必放在主语的前面。例如:

Until 1 was twenty I had never been away from my home town. 我二十岁以前，从未离开过家乡。

Until then I didn’t realize the importance of this problem. 直到那时我才认识到这问题的重要性。

4.为了加强语气，我们也可以将not until引出的时间状语放在主句的前面。这时主句的谓语动词应倒装，将助动词、情态动词或系动词放在主语的前面，not仍然用来否定主句的谓语动语。例如:

Not until the early years of the 19th century ______ what heat is.(1989年高考试题，正确选项D。) 直到19世纪初人类才知道热是怎么一回事。

A.man did know B.man knew

C.didn’t man know D.did man know

Not until I began to work ______ how much time I had wasted.(1990年高考试题，正确选项B。) 直到开始工作我才认识到已浪费了多少时间。

A.didn’t realize B.did I realize

C.I didn’t realize D.I realized

Not until all the fish died in the river _______ how serious the pollution was.(1995年高考试题，正确选项A。) 直到河中的鱼都死光了村民们才认识到污染的严重性。

A.did the villagers realize B.the villagers realized

C.the villagers did realize D.didn’t the villagers realize

5.为了加强语气，我们还可以把not until用在“It be…that"强调句型中。组成"It be not until…that…"结构，not的否定功能仍不变，用来否定that后面的谓语动词。例如:

It was not ______ she took off her dark glasses ______ I realized she was a famous film star. (1992年高考试题，正确选项B。) 直到她摘下墨镜我才发现她是位著名的影星。

A.when;that B.until;that

C.until;when D.when;then

It was not until 1920 ______ regular radio broadcasts began.(1995年高考试题,正确选项C。) 直到1920年才开始正常的无线电广播。

A.while B.which

C.that D.since
